Black Star Sapphire Studs in Sterling Silver

These black sapphire studs have a rare characteristic called asterism. They have a golden glow in dispersed light and then a 6 pointed star appears in direct light.  When the direct light such as sunlight hits the stones, tiny needle-like inclusions gather together to create a star that moves across the face of the stone.  The stones change as the light changes making for a sophisticated and dramatic stud.  

The sapphires are set in a handcrafted silver bezel setting for a clean modern look.  Stones measure 8mm by 6mm and the post is set in the center of the oval.
