Jewelry Care

Care of jewelry with agate, obsidian, turquoise, opalised wood and other soft stones. 

These stones can be easily scratched so take care to use a soft toothbrush with mild dish soap and lukewarm water to remove oils and debris. A soft microfibre polishing cloth can be used to polish up the silver.

Store it in a cool dark place and kept safe from the risk of being knocked off of other jewelry.

Turquoise is naturally porous so it easily absorbs chemicals, lotions and oils. Think of your turquoise as the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off so you’re not applying lotion or perfumes directly onto the turquoise. Store away from sunlight.

Care of gold and silver jewelry without any stones 

Commercial jewelry solution for silver or gold is ok to dip or you can use a soft toothbrush with some mild dish soap and warm water to remove oils and dirt. Finish up with a polishing cloth to shine it up.  

Care of jewelry with diamond, garnet or sapphire 

Only use a commercial cleaner that is suitable for stones. Also a toothbrush with mild dish soap and warm water should remove any debris and oils. A microfibre polishing cloth can be used to bring up the shine.

Chains

Chains can be polished up by washing with dish soap, pulling through a polishing cloth or dipping it in commercial jewelry dip for silver or gold.
